Back to the trails and a supporting wife

After a rainy and gloomy Saturday, Sunday was simply gloomy and both me and the wife couldn't find our motivation.  Didn't want to walk the mall again, blister on the heel was bugging and later in the day the wife wasn't feeling well.  So we took care of somethings around here.  Did stop at the Mall but only to stock up on tea.
Somethings we found that interested us came up.  Found a walk on the Milwaukee Mile to Benefit Great Lakes Hemophilia (its a bleeding disorder).  Its three time around the track but the track is open for a while so I would like to get 5 laps in, just not at Indy Car speed.  The other item we found was Dairyland Walkers they have two events that I would like to participate in but one conflicts with a hike we would like to do in Stevens Point.  So over the next several weeks we have the Hemophilia Walk, Moon Walk in Point, Al's Run/Walk for Children's Hospital (this one is personal as we are walking for Little Man E), The Heart Walk and The Dairlyland Walkers Middleton Moonlight Walk.  All are 5 K events except the two night time events, the one in Point is 4, 8 or 12 miles (we want to do at least 8) and the Middleton Event is a 5k or 10K, we hope to get there in time to do the 10K.
I got home from work and the wife isn't feeling the best, so we grab a quick dinner and head out, she still wants to hike.  So I truly expect it will be a shorter walk, but it is the effort that counts.  As we go along she states she is feeling a bit better and is surprised her shins aren't bugging her (she has shin stiffness when we start usually).  I have a spot I expect she will turn around, but no she keeps going.  To Tweety's bridge (sorry geocaching reference), and she keeps going.  To the final for Lifeboat (more geocaching) and she keeps going finally she stops at the stop sign nearest one of our favorite puzzle caches, Music Men.  My not felling well wife had donned her pink energizer Bunny Costume and walked the furthest we had walked one way on the Bugline.  When asked she claimed she felt better.  Then it was time to head back to the car.

Steps today 8210 for 4.7 miles.  Total steps to date 57089 for 30.6 miles.  One of my goals is to try to maintain an average of 20 miles per week, so far so good.

Join me for a mile or two?
