As I started this I figured I would try to walk a 5K (3.1 miles) as often as I could and gear up for longer walks on weekends. I have targeted a long walk in October, the Moon Walk in Stevens Point, WI as one I want to do, it is 4,8, or 12 miles. Since 7.5 is my best in a day I have targeted the 8 and would like to try the 12.
Every day when the wife and I go out we add .10 miles to the walk one way, today we decided to go a little further. We walk the Bugline Trail that goes between Menomonee Falls and Sussex, WI and as we have walked along the trail we have commented about the geocaches we have done in that area. We are big into caching and this trail has had many, today we past two one we enjoyed but are no longer active, both parts of Tweety and the final area for Lifeboat. Lifeboat was one of our early favorites.
Nice crisp weather made it pleasant enough to walk, we headed out late since I had called tech support for our Blu Ray earlier so we got the purples of the sunset as we headed west. We could hear the marching band at the local High School football game and heard the band playing at the Big Pig Gig (and smelled the BBQ on the way back). Made for a nice walk, and with compression shorts on the chaffing problem is gone. Upgrade my sock to a non cotton and my recovering blistered feet even feel better.
Hoping for decent weather tomorrow or it is to the Mall to walk, yuck. Well we had to go there anyhow tomorrow we need to stock up on tea. If the weather cooperates we want to do 5 miles on Saturday and 7.5 miles on Sunday.
Also tomorrow is weigh in and measuring chest, waist and hips to give me a reference starting point (I'm not going to like this)
Today 6578 steps for 3.8 miles, since starting walking on September 9, 2010 38985 steps for 20.8 miles
