Get home from work and throw two steaks on the grill for dinner. The weather has been threatening all day but nothing was materialize so maybe we can get a hike in. By the time the steaks are done the thought of walking is also done. Welcome back rain.
So we figure watch something off the DVR and The Biggest Loser. I made fun of the fact I would eat a pint of Ben and Jerrys while watching that in the past, hey Bob would you approve of a handful of grapes. Mentality is changing.
I have come the realization (actually long ago) that I have what is deemed an addictive personality. I smoked for roughly 20 years, most of that time multiple packs of unfiltered a day. When I quit I traded that addiction for one with food. Even in hobbies I am the same way, when we started geocaching we went nuts with it. Odd that we have had less than two hundred finds in 3 months, when we have had months with 250 finds. That I think was our first attempt at trying to do something more healthy as an activity for us.
Now it seems that addiction may turn to walking. The wife and I were both disappointed when the rain started, we both had wanted to do a 5K, a month ago if we were out geocaching if we couldn't park with in 300 feet we weren't doing it
One other observation today, clothing is is fitting differently. Remember Tim Allen in Home Improvement and how he never seemed to get it right when he fixed things. Well I figure using a power tool for clothing adjustments may not be a good thing, but I need to drill a whole in my belt or we risk a clothing malfunction (nobody wants that). Hopefully next time you see me on the trails my hand isnt bandaged up because the belt and drill won.
Hopefully the rain ends before tomorrow evening, would like to get at least one more good length walk in before the Great Lakes Hemophilia Walk on Saturday
